On March 29, 2023, Permanent Representative of Slovenia Ambassador Iztok Jarc together with Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the European Union Ambassador Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda, Deputy Director General of the DG for International Partnerships of the European Commission Ms Marieta Jager and deputy head of Mission of the Netherlands debriefed the heads of the diplomatic Corps of Brussels on the outcomes of the UN Water Conference on the mid-term comprehensive review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development", 2018-2028.
At the event, the Ambassador of Tajikistan explained in detail the content of the Water Action Agenda and assured that about 700 proposed commitments of UN Member States are based on the protection of “humanity’s most precious global common good” and are aimed at achieving certain global goals, including SDG 6.
Taking the opportunity, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan informed his counterparts about the importance of the global initiatives of the Leader of the Nation in the water sector, as well as about the new initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the resolution "2025 - International Year of Glaciers' Preservation", inviting diplomats to the next Conference on the implementation of the International Water Decade, 2024, and the International Glaciers' Preservation Conference, 2025, to be held in Dushanbe.
