Participation of Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the 79th session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific

On May 15, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, Ardasher Qodiri participated and addressed the opening ceremony of the 79th session of the Commission under the theme “Accelerating climate action in  Asia and Pacific for sustainable development".
During his speech, the Permanent Representative stressed the importance of strengthening and expanding cooperation between Asia and Oceania  in water and climate issues and called for more inclusive support for Tajikistan's initiatives.

It should be noted that at the 79th session of the Commission delegations of member countries participate at the level of heads of State/Government, deputy heads of Government, ministers and other high level representatives, and it will last until 19 May 2023.

A number of different special side events are being held on the margins of the Commission.
