Tajikistan - China state boundary

Republic of Tajikistan in the east borders with the People’s Republic of China. Total lengths of the Tajikistan and China state boundary is  494.4 km. It goes through the highlands along the Pamir mountain range in the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region.

The issues related to delimitation and demarcation of Tajikistan-China state boundary found their solutions.

The cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and People’s Republic of China in border-related matters is carried out based on the following main international treaties:  

- Agreements between the Republic of Tajikistan and the People’s Republic of China on the state boundary dated 13.08.1999 and 17.05.2002;

- Protocol between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on demarcation of the state boundary dated 27.04.2010;

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on the regime of the state boundary dated 05.06.2012;

- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on border-crossing points dated 29.12.2011.
