Meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Zhao Leji

On September 3, in Beijing, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, Honorable Zhao Leji, and discussed a range of issues of cooperation between the two countries.

At the beginning, the Head of our state congratulated the leadership and people of China on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people over Japanese militarism and the end of the Second Anti-Fascist War and the successful holding of grandiose events on this occasion.

Assessing the level and content of bilateral relations with our country, the Head of the Chinese Parliament stated, in particular: "China will always be the most reliable friend and trusting partner of Tajikistan."

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed satisfaction with the level and content of cooperative relations with the People's Republic of China, noting that China is a reliable friend, good neighbor, and comprehensive strategic partner for Tajikistan.

The parties discussed ongoing political dialogue, as well as cooperation in the economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was emphasized that interparliamentary and public relations between the two countries are actively developing.

Great attention was paid to the implementation of important projects in the energy, transport and logistics sectors within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

Special emphasis was placed on the harmonious strengthening of the partnership between Tajikistan and China within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and “Central Asia-China” format.

It was noted that more than 700 companies with Chinese capital are currently operating in Tajikistan.

It was considered appropriate to use the abundant opportunities in the industrial and agricultural sectors, including the export of Tajik agricultural products to China.

Expansion of cooperation in the field of digital technologies and innovation, the process of digitization of the national economy of Tajikistan, the development of ties in the field of education and the training of specialists in information and communication technologies were other topics of discussion.

Also, an exchange of views took place on the expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the field of ensuring security and China's continued support for Tajikistan's global and regional proposals and initiatives.

An official banquet was also held in the building of the National People's Congress in honor of the Leader of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, on behalf of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, in the presence of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (Parliament) of the People's Republic of China, Zhao Leji.
