Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the High-Level Event on Water diplomacy

On September 22, 2025, in the margins of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, participated and addressed the Ministerial High-Level Event on Water Diplomacy, co-sponsored by Tajikistan, Finland, and Senegal.

In his statement, Minister Muhriddin briefed the participants about the global initiatives of Tajikistan in the field of water resources and climate change, such as International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028”, International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation – 2025, as well as preparations for the Dushanbe Water Process Conference – 2026 and UN Water Conference in Dushanbe in 2028.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan also reiterated country’s willingness to working with all its international partners to ensure that water becomes a true bridge for cooperation, sustainable development, and peace.
