Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the High-level Special Event: “Framing the Future of Water”

On September 23, 2025, in the margins of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the High-level Special Event: “Framing the Future of Water”.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that water is central to the pressing global issues confronting us today and highlighted the interconnectedness of water, energy, and food as a chance to turn existing challenges into sustainable opportunities.

Emphasizing Tajikistan's commitment to building a Green Economy and the pivotal role of water in that journey, Minister Muhriddin noted that more than 98% of the nation's electricity currently comes from hydropower. He described water as “life’s greatest treasure,” urging integrated management to ensure it continues nourishing communities, driving economies, and preserving ecosystems around the globe.
