Relations of Tajikistan with Vietnam

Tajik-Vietnamese diplomatic relations were established on July 14 1992.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (with residence in Beijing) is Davlatzoda Parviz (21.07.2016).

An important event in the history of the Tajik- Vietnamese relations was the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at January, 1999 and his meetings and talks with President of Vietnam on the further development of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. 

Both countries have established inter-parliamentary cooperation. In 2010 the Assembly of Representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam established Inter-parliamentary friendship Group for cooperation.

26 April 2019 on the sidelines of his working visit to China and on the margins of the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held talks with the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Tajik – Vietnamese relationship, both in bilateral and multilateral formats, was discussed during the meeting.

15 June 2019 on the sidelines of the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Dushanbe, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan received the Vice President of the Republic of Vietnam. The meeting focused on issues relating to bilateral and international cooperation.

The basis of the legal framework between the two countries is 5 documents.
Trade turnover between the two countries in the 2018 amounted to 3 million 302 thousand U.S. dollars.
