Relations of Tajikistan with New Zealand

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and New Zealand were established in August 1992.

The embassy of New Zealand in Tajikistan has its residence in Moscow.

Since November 22, 2016, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to the Republic of Tajikistan is Mr. Ian Alexander Hill.

From July 8 to July 9, 2013, the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan to New Zealand took place. During this visit, meetings were held, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, , Special Envoy of the Prime Minister in Central Asia, as well as with the leadership of the NZTE state organization for the development of trade relations. The visit resulted in the signing of a Joint Statement on the intentions of developing further bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as intentions to provide mutual support within the framework of international organizations.

From 12 to 14 September 2013, the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of New Zealand visited the Republic of Tajikistan, where he met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Water Resources and other officials.

A joint statement was signed between the two countries, in which the parties identified ways for further bilateral cooperation in various areas.

The trade turnover between the two countries in 2018 amounted to 446,700 thousand US dollars.
